Knights of the 21st Century

In earlier times, children left home around age 7 to live with a Knight and begin their training to become noble Knights themselves. They learned knightly behaviour, duties, and skills vital to their future roles. Today, our education system mirrors this ancient tradition. Starting primary school at age 7 is like being a Page, learning the basics of reading, writing, sports, and sportsmanship. High school acts as the Squire phase, where young people refine their skills, achieve proficiency, and earn honours. Finally, graduation between the ages of 18–24 serves as the modern Dubbing ceremony, where graduates enter their professions and commit to upholding honourable standards. This engaging book draws parallels between medieval Knight training and modern education, emphasising why we follow certain customs and how to embody knightly values today. It encourages young readers to behave with integrity, respect, and responsibility in all areas of life. At the end, “Help Me Cope Activities” help children and readers alike apply these lessons practically to improve their lives and communities through awareness and proper conduct. Recommended for children ages 4 to 13, this book provides a unique perspective that blends history, life skills, and character education in an accessible and inspiring way.
